John Hawkins, Ed.S.
I developed my first website in the earliest days of the World Wide Web (circa 1990). At that time, I was a professional school counselor at a residential, magnet high school, where the use of technology was not only encouraged but expected. I immediately saw the value of a forum that allowed me to communicate to students, parents, and other stake-holders. Later, I began seeing clients privately and maintained a website that advertised my private practice.Since 2004, I have been the webmaster for the Mississippi Counseling Association. I have taught graduate courses on web design for counselors in the Department of Counseling, and Educational Psychology at Mississippi State University. I also regularly present professional workshops on web design and technology topics for counselors.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor and a National Certified School Counselor. I am currently completing my requirements for a Ph.D. in counseling with a minor in educational technology.
